Rensselaer Regional Soccer Club Inclement Weather Policy:
The Rensselaer Regional Soccer Club takes the safety of all athletes, coaches, referees and spectators very seriously. Sometimes we experience inclement weather, as a result please take a moment to read these instructions so you can become acquainted with the recommendations that the Board of Directors will abide by in case of inclement weather at the respective fields and parks where you may be participating.
Please know that we will be playing in the situations of rain, wind, cold, snow or sunshine. Please dress accordingly, as we will not be stopping or delaying the game for those weather events.
The following guidelines will be followed in case of Lightning:
A lightning strike inside the perimeter of 20 miles to the proximity of the park you are located in will immediately create a 30-minute weather related evacuation of the fields and delay of games until the Rensselaer Regional Soccer Club Board Committee determines what the next safe step will be. Please communicate with the coaches or referees if you see or are aware of a lightning strike within 20 miles of your park.
If the first half of the game has been completed, the game will be considered a played game, the result will be recorded as a completed game. If the game has not made it to half time, the game will be picked up where it was left off, to the best of the coaches’ and referees’ ability.
Inclement Weather Location Procedures: Brookside Park
1. The following athletes, coaches, referees and spectators should shelter to the South of the Roth Softball Field or in vehicles U-4, U-6, U-12 or U-14 age groups. If athletes are sheltering in vehicles, please communicate with their coaches, so coaches know where the athletes are located and are aware they are out of potential danger.
2. The following athletes, coaches, referees and spectators should shelter to the North of the Tennis Courts or in vehicles U-8 or U-10 age groups. If athletes are sheltering in vehicles, please communicate with their coaches, so coaches know where the athletes are located and are aware they are out of potential danger.
Game Cancellations/Rescheduling:
The coaches will NOT determine games being rescheduled. A committee of the Board of Directors will determine the games being rescheduled. The In-House director or Lead Referee will communicate the information to coaches about games being rescheduled.
