The Rensselaer Regional Soccer Club (RRSC) Travel Program plays in the North West Indiana Soccer League (NWISL), which is affiliated with the State of Indiana Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) and the Soccer Association for Youth (SAY). RRSC follows NWISL guidelines and policies in order to play. The Travel Program's aim is to offer a fun season of Soccer in a competitive environment.
The majority of our away games are with nearby communities like Lowell, Crown Point, DeMotte, Lakes of the Four Seasons, Dyer, Schererville, Highland, Hobart, and Valparaiso. We may, at times, travel to towns like Michigan City, Hammond, or Munster, depending if those towns have teams in our players' applicable division. The season consists of 8 regular season games capped off by a tournament at season’s end.
All Players WELCOMED!!!
Along with offering an expanded skill set, our Travel program affords our coaches and players the added excitement of running plays and implementing team strategies. As a result, coaches will try to further develop their players' skills. It is a competitive league, so scores and standings are kept.
Travel teams also have the possibility of staying together as a cohesive unit throughout multiple seasons, instead of having new teams each season. Player placement can be affected by the following factors:
a.) The age of a players is as follows:
Oldest Birthday Youngest Birthday
U8 8/1/2014 thru 7/31/2016
U10 8/1/2012 thru 7/31/2014
U12 8/1/20010 thru 7/31/2012
U14 8/1/2008 thru 7/31/20010
***NOTE: 14 year old players (born before 8/1/2008) are allowed on the U14 team as long as they are in 8th grade. Players must provide copy of 8th grade transcript for verification.***
b.) In the past, older division teams have requested players from younger divisions to join if their skill level can accommodate the age gap.
c.) And of course, the number of players registered affects the formation of teams.
